Initial Offerings was born out of the love of all things monogrammed. This love affair began more than thirty years ago with a collection of vintage silver pieces and linens with other people’s monograms. My first retail venture began in the late 80's in Delray Beach, Florida. My mother and I collaborated to open a Pappagallo shop (remember those?) named "Kimberly's". We carried shoes, beautiful clothing, Bermuda bags and more. We opened a second store in North Palm Beach, Florida soon after. Pappagallo shops were synonymous with classic preppy style. It is safe to say I remain true to this style today.
In 2000, shortly after moving to Georgia, I opened a stationery business that evolved well beyond invitations and note cards to include sterling silver jewelry and gifts. I am thrilled to once again partner with many of the manufacturers I worked with during this period. While building the stationery business I also designed and launched a line of monogrammed handbags. Late in 2003, our family relocated to Pennsylvania and in doing so I sold the stationery business so I could focus on designing and manufacturing my handbag collection. The handbag business grew and soon included licensed franchises, including designs for several Collegiate Licensed products. I sold my interest in this venture to spend more time with my family.
On the move again in 2010, this time to northern California. During that first holiday season in California I could not find personalized gifts in my area. It was then that Initial Offerings was born. Vintage silver and formal linens will always be my first love. However, why stop at formal? Why not be surrounded by fun, everyday monograms as well. The motto around here is everything is better with Initials…be it formal or fun.
Our love of the Southeast brought us back to Georgia in 2018 and has inspired me to launch my own collection of designs that are featured on everything from gift wrap to home decor and stationery.
Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to personalizing your world.
